Innovating for growth in the world of Personalisation
I have worked for the leading european B2C personalised print and gifting e-tailer group, Photobox.com, for the past 15 years. Working in a range of senior UK and pan European Operations roles; managing & developing production facilities, developing group wide R&D and product & process Innovation functions, stategically helping the company develop from scale-up to SME to major global force within ecommerce personalisation printing & gifting.
Innovating new physical personalised products, designing lean and efficient production solutions and delivering scalable manufacturing capability to delight customers. Evaluating and auditing in-house production, outsourcers and suppliers, developing manufacturing solutions and industrialising / automating production and packaging to deliver competitive advantage through lean efficiency, reduced turnaround, improved quality and cost reduction.
Within the world of Photographic production I've done everything from hand printing unique photographic artworks for the likes of Damien Hirst & Helmut Newton, right through to managing the production of over one million silver halide prints per day for a multinational B2C ecommerce photo printer.
I've worked as a photographer. I have printed, framed and hung international exhibitions. I've managed nationwide retail photo kiosk and e-com photo software implementation for photographic & multinational high street retailers, Online marketplace solutions for pro photograpers & stock agencies and built multi-million £ production and warehousing facilities for online artists & galleries.
Since I started working in print 30 years ago, the explosion of digital print technology means the weeks I used to spend press-passing litho jobs are a thing of the past. I have spent the last 20+ years immersed in the opportunities for innovation and development across commercial digital printing and finishing technologies to enable print-on-demand and MOQs of 1.
Working with key international digital press, finishing and packaging equipment and software manufacturers to develop innovative approaches and solutions to deliver ever more efficient and productive manufacturing solutions. I've worked with multiple printer manufacturers & suppliers across sheet fed, web fed, industrial Inkjet, digital offset, wide format, AgX, UV, DyeSub, Solvent, Latex, 2D & 3D Sublimation, direct to product, DTG and DTF print technologies as well as multiple binding, finishing and embelishment solutions.
I love Print and printed products; the constant opportunity for innovation, the endless creation and improvement of new print & finishing technologies, the ability to print on literally anything you might imagine!
I love Photography; the captured moment of beauty in the world, recorded, frozen & printed to be cherished forever.
